For our residents who are recovering from an injury or surgery, managing a chronic condition, or experiencing weakness/decline, a physician can order therapy in our onsite gym, or therapy in the resident’s room (via home health care). Therapy regimens are uniquely person-centered, and our equipment is stat of the art.
What therapies are provided at King’s Daughters Home?
Our therapists are experts in their field. They are kind, encouraging, and empathetic, and employ the latest best-practice therapies. The following services are provided by contracted, licensed therapists and typically covered by insurance:
- Physical therapy – The focus with physical therapy is to improve the resident’s ability to perform movement of the body. This could include improving mobility, lessening pain, and gaining strength.
- Occupational therapy – Our therapist works with residents to do the things they want and need to do during their daily activities. This includes adapting the environment and/or task to fit the person.
- Speech therapy – For those who’ve experienced a stroke, brain injury, cancer, or chronic disease (Parkinson’s, dementia), speech therapy can help with language, speech, comprehension, and swallowing.
